Awards Received by Mike Swope

This Swope Design web site is for my graphic and web design and related activities. I do freelance work as Mike Swope dba Swope Design. But I was also employed by Koch Industries, Inc. for nearly 9 years in Creative Services. During these years, the department changed names several times and was eventually moved under Koch Business Solutions, L.P., a Koch Industries related business. During these years as an employee of Koch Industries/Koch Business Solutions, I received several awards for my work on the Internet.

I had posted these awards on an earlier version of my site while employed by Koch, and was forced to remove them from my site by Koch because their listing here on this site suggested that Swope Design received the awards and not Koch. Of course, if I didn't remove them from my site, I would have been let go. So I removed them from my site at that time. I also removed the awards I had received for sites not related to Koch in any way. That was best. At that time.

I left Koch in April 2004, and I am once more listing the awards received while an employee of Koch, along with my other awards. Koch can't fire me any more for listing these personal accomplishments. However, for clarity, I have made it painfully clear below which awards were received as an employee of Koch, and in what capacity I contributed to each award. No one should mistake that these awards listed this way were received by Swope Design. They weren't. I received and accepted them as a Koch employee. I list them now as nothing more. And nothing less.

I also list my writing awards, as those experiences brought me to design, and I employ those skills every day as I write content for my sites and my clients' sites. Who knows...Maybe I'll write another award-winning story or poem some day.
